Sourdough Pizza

This easy to make sourdough pizza came from a gal that I follow on Youtube. The site is called Farm House on Boone with Lisa Bass. I love watching her videos. She talks about sourdough recipes without all of the FEAR. If you get into sourdough baking you will see that it's important to use or discard your starter on a regular basis to keep it healthy. This simple recipe helps you use it. Our family loves the thin crust and taste of sourdough. We hope your family enjoys it as well.

1 jar pizza sauce

6 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

1 pkg pepperoni

1 c. sourdough start

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

While the oven is heating up, place the cast iron pan in the oven so it can heat up as well. You want it good and hot when you make your crust.

Start off by pouring 1 cup of sourdough starter in your hot cast iron pan and spread evenly in to the pan. If your pan needs more add just enough to line your pan with your starter.  Lisa likes her dough up high on the sides of her pan. We kept ours down low. Place in the oven and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until cooked. Pull the pizza crust out of the pan and place on a cookie sheet. We made 10 of these for our family Sunday dinner. We had the whole crew with us. The great thing is you can make one or lots depending on how much sourdough starter you have. Seriously so fun to make.

Once your crust is cooked add your toppings pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Place back into the oven for another 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
