½ c. pepper jack cheese

¾ tsp salt

1 ½ cup sausage or 10 cooked bacons crumbled

4 large eggs

1 c. milk

1 c. heavy cream

sugar a pinch

nutmeg a pinch

⅛ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

½ tsp pepper

1 package deep dish pie crust (2 shells)

The night before, I precook the sausage, shred my cheese (pepper jack is our favorite, Swiss and cheddar are yummy too) and place them in separate baggies and put them in the fridge.

In a container add eggs, cream, milk, sugar, salt, pepper, nutmeg, a dash of cayenne pepper and place in your fridge. In the morning pullout your store bought pie shells and dump the egg concoction, cheese and sausages in the shell (pour carefully). Mix well together and place shell on a cookie sheet to prevent spillage in your oven.

Cook at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes more.

Do a toothpick check to see if it is cooked through. When the toothpick comes out clean, pull from oven and let it sit for 20 minutes then eat!
